Positive energy is crucial for health. Our bodies absorb our thoughts, intentions, outlook on life, and those of others. Everything begins inside the mind, and with the right mindset, we begin to thrive in all areas of our lives.
Watch Yalda below as she talks about using positive thinking to achieve optimal results.
Yalda gives her personal tips on how to develop a positive mindset:
This doesn’t mean you should be a doormat! If somebody behaves outrageously towards you, be very polite yet firm and stand your ground. If you deem this person toxic, you should let them go. Firmly put distance between you and them but try not to burn bridges—I had to learn the hard way, as I used to speak my mind without thinking of the consequences. You don’t need anyone bringing negativity into your life. I believe in the law of attraction and the law of vibration. If you think positively and visualize where you want to get to daily (work, relationships, health, weight), you maximize the chances of it happening. You can check out this article by Bob Proctor, which explains this crucial concept. Proctor emphasizes that maintaining a high vibration doesn’t mean passivity; you can be respectful yet stand firm and remove yourself from toxic energies.
Make sure you spend time with positive people who bring out your best. Social ties are significant for mental and physical health. Make sure to surround yourself with people who lift you, brighten the room, motivate you, inspire you, and make you laugh!
If your boss or someone you can’t avoid makes you feel terrible, pray for them. It works as a shield against their negative energy! I do this all the time. I pray and ask God / the universe to take care of their souls and help them get to a happier place. No happy person makes other people feel bad.
It has been shown that people who live with a partner have a better life expectancy. Another study shows “happiness” as the most important factor when it comes to longevity! This is hardly surprising as 60% of our neurotransmitters and 70% of our immune system (GALT – Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue) are located in our digestive system. To be healthy, you need harmonious relationships with the outside world and at home. After I got divorced, I dove into this topic and wanted to understand what truly makes couples work. I think Dr. Gottman’s work in this field is outstanding. You can check his website as well as his YouTube videos.
The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Having strong values, living with a purpose, keeping the big picture in mind, and regularly telling yourself how well you are doing all contribute to having a positive and constructive mindset. If you need therapy or help to improve the way you look at yourself, invest in it! This allows you to care less about how people see you and give more importance to your values. It is easy to please people and pretend to be what we aren’t. However, it doesn’t bring satisfaction and can lead to not liking ourselves very much. It’s so important to strive for real and strong values to achieve true self-love and respect. For people to respect you, you have to respect yourself first. Make sure to notice the good things you do and tell yourself, “well done for doing this/that, for handling this situation with so much dignity and calmness, for trying your best at […], for doing the Six-Week Reset and looking after your health.”
A great exercise to help you achieve this is to take a piece of paper and write down everything you do well. Make a list of all your qualities, achievements, and the positive actions you regularly perform. What I mean by that is writing down “I work hard” rather than “I am intelligent” or “I look after my health” rather than “I am beautiful.” You will be surprised at the long list you come up with!
It’s great to want to improve. However, it’s also essential to acknowledge what we’re already doing right. Doing this work will give you wings to fly, achieve more and make the most of the six weeks that you are dedicating to your body and your mind
